Get The Shot - Absolute Sacrifice

Hailing straight from Quebec City, Canada, Get The Shot was formed in 2009 by a bunch of outcasts who wanted nothing more than a chance to spit their fury at the face of the world. The band plays an unpretentious spirited hardcore tinged with the desperation of a cold and disaffected youth. 

Pulling off a sound akin to 90’s hardcore bands like Strife and Ringworm while incorporating elements of 80’s trash metal, its latest achievement, “Infinite Punishment” is a dark and brooding record delivered with the distinctive ferocity and violent vigour of five disillusioned spirits who have nothing left to lose. No fashion, no frills, no lies. Get The Shot is all about rage and anger toward this harsh place we live in.

And as I let hindsight translate nightmares into reality, I begin to see myself for who I truly was, somebody desperate, somebody entirely out of their depth, somebody beyond their abilities to cope. And as I exhale out the pain, I’m digesting the severity of the depression I felt, the extent to which it claimed a piece of me, how it’s left me emotionally vacant and painfully numb. And now together, my faults and my thoughts prey on me like vultures, creeping from their comfortable distance, never once exiting my line of vision. And the facade I invite to amble whilst wearing my skin, he isn’t me and he never will be me. And I know that I fucked up, but I want to grow from it.

Honesty - N.A.T.O. Crimes

Honesty is a hardcore band born between Paris (France) and Belgrade (Yugoslavia), influenced by the New-York, Boston and European hardcore scene, bands like Madball, Ramallah, Barcode and Biohazard. But also in love with the Hip Hop movement. Guys wanted to bring something new to Europe, a mix of groove, power and clever lyrics, committed against the new world order propaganda, denunciation of N.A.T.O. crimes and U.N lies. We strive to be pointing the finger at the paradox that concerns the western countries who wrote the declaration of the human rights and all the criminal actions that the same nations are committing for decades over OUR planet.

The band has also had a real commitment to homeless people in Paris for years and takes inspiration from this action to share our experience. 

Honesty has taken part in lot of human projects, shows for ill-children, compilation for children in need, compilation for people of Syria, association to the HHF (Hardcore Help Foundation) : presence at the benefit show, on the first compilation and Asian tour with funds collected for the victims of the flooding in the Philippines.

In eight years, there were two demos and three albums released : 'Back to Reality' (Disagree Records – 2007), 

'We Got Game' (Goodlife Records – 2009) and 'The American Dream' (Core-Tex Records – 2012) feat. Barcode and Ray Skarhead.

The band has played more than 200 shows all over the globe with Madball, Agnostic Front, Down, Lagwagon and many more; made several European tours with Backfire ! (Netherlands), Billy Club Sandwich (USA), The Boss (Belgium) and an Asian tour in 2012 with the OVC Family.

As long as the world will spill the blood of the innocents, Honesty will rise against.

The Flirty Whistle - slide your finger up and down the high e string quickly

The Elephant - turn the volume on the guitar down, then hit the 5th fret (G string) natural harmonic, then the 7th fret (B string) natural harmonic, then as you turn up the volume on the guitar raise the whammy bar and bomb it down

Bad Horsie - works best with 3rd and 5th fret G string harmonics, then go ape shit on the whammy bar

The tap/slide - as you tap the note, run your finger up the fretboard and repeat if desired

The shrieking Eels - Put on a shit ton of reverb, and slowly pick scrape the high e string

Natural Harmonics - gently rest your finger over the fret and pluck it. (works best with 5th, 7th, and 12th frets)

Scratching the Taint - pluck all the strings behind the nut

Tap Harmonics - tap an octave up of whatever frets your hand is on (i.e. playing 5th fret, tap 17th fret)

Palm Harmonics - (this one is a little tricky), as you release the tapped note, use your palm to trigger the harmonic (as you would a standard pinch harmonic) by gently grazing the string right after the tap is released.

Bending the Taint - bend the string behind the nut (individual results may vary)
