Guitarist and founding member of the seminal NYC punk band Lunachicks and front woman for Bantam, Gina Volpe teamed up with producer Barb Morrison (Blondie, Franz Ferdinand) and returned to the studio to record ‘Different Animal,’ her debut solo release “...a diverse collection of tracks layered with chunky riffs, pop, and dance sounds”.
The fourth video from Gina Volpe’s latest EP “Different Animal”, “Shine” is a slow-burning, visually stunning piece for a song that contemplates the legacies we leave behind featuring the skills and composite artistry of editor Dan Dome (Seth Meyers, Conan) and lush cinematography of William Amenta. It’s a departure from the videos Volpe has released so far, which include the title track’s video, where Volpe dons a Yeti suit; “The Road,” starring the seductive disco moves of drag queen Dusty Ray Bottoms; and “When I’m Gone,” filmed on the streets of Brooklyn.
