Artist Biography: Dr. Beardfacé and the Spaceman...Odd Name, Great Sound!
About the Video: She just want's to be a Rock Star...Don't You?
Philadelphia's Dr. Beardfacé and The Spaceman may be the least genre-specific band you will ever hear. Influenced by a variety of music ranging from punk and indie rock to 50's rockabilly and doo wop, Dr. Beardface blends elements of these influences with clever lyricism to deliver high-energy, solid punk and roll songs that are easy to drink to, fun to dance to, and impossible not to sing along to. Since their inception, the band has quickly gained buzz with positive press and reviews in magazines like Dying Scene, That Mag, and Rock Era Magazine, as well as airplay on 93.3 WMMR, 93.7 WSTW's Hometown Heroes, 93.5 WZBH, Goldie's Garage Show on Sirius XM Radio, UK's Amazing Radio and many other FM and online radio stations.
In January of 2017, the band signed with the NYC/Austin based punk label Altercation Records, and soon after premiered their first music video on Blank TV for their single "I Need It". The video was shot, produced, and edited entirely by the band's guitar player, Matt Boyle, and can be seen on YouTube and Blank TV. In May 2017, Dr. Beardface will release their first full length LP on the Altercation label, titled "Here for the Scraps". They are currently touring the U.S., including stops in Austin, TX for the 2017 SXSW festival, and are already writing and recording songs for a follow up album. Their live show is explosive with energy, incredibly fun, and not to be missed, so make sure you catch Dr. Beardface and the Spaceman when they roll into your city.
